About Payton Brown
Payton Brown is from Berkeley Springs, WV. She earned her BFA in Art Education with a focus in Painting and minor in Art History from West Virginia University in 2021. She is currently an MFA Candidate in Painting, and she is also pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Therapeutic Art at West Virginia University, expected to graduate in 2024.
Brown’s artwork has been included in select group exhibitions at SPACE Gallery (Pittsburgh, PA), Rice Gallery of Fine Art (Overland Park, KS), District Arts (Frederick, MD), and Spiva Center for the Arts (Joplin, MO).
The majority of her paintings are oil on canvas, but Payton enjoys creating art in a wide range of media, including: acrylic and watercolor painting, charcoal, pastel, colored pencil, linocut, monotype printmaking, digital illustration, and mixed media installation. She is the owner of Art by Payton, LLC, and loves creating products to share art with others, such as coloring books, stickers, and prints.
